Cobras Defeat the Crusaders in Non-Conference Match

BELMONT, N.C.- The Coker women's volleyball team traveled to Belmont Abbey to battle the Crusaders in non-conference action Tuesday night (Oct. 31).  The Cobras came out victorious in the crucial fifth set to win the match 3-2 (20-25, 26-24, 25-21, 18-25, 15-11).

Christen Bragg became the seventh Cobra in Coker history, and the third this season, to reach the 1,000 career dig mark. She finished the night with two kills, 41 assists, one service ace, 11 digs, and three block assists.

Taylor du Bray led the offensive attack with her double-double of 13 kills and 18 digs. Madison Bingle also had a double-double with 10 kills and 12 digs. Bethany Prochnow finished the match with eight kills, one solo block, and assisted on four blocks. Alexis Berles also had eight kills, one service ace, three digs, and four block assists and Annie Mansfield knocked down nine kills and had two block assists.

Kara Overholt led the defensive stand with 24 digs and also had four assists to her credit, Missy Reid helped out with 14 digs.

The team finished with 51 kills, 49 assists, six service aces, 83 digs, one solo block, and 16 block assists.

The Navy and Gold return home on Friday (Nov. 3) to celebrate the senior day of Missy Reid, Christen Bragg, Bethany Prochnow, Alexis Berles, and Madison Bingle. They will take on the Mars Hill Lions at 7:00 p.m.
