Cobras Downed by Eagles in SAC Action

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn.- The Coker women's volleyball team took on the Eagles of Carson-Newman in a South Atlantic Conference matchup Saturday (Oct. 21) afternoon. The Cobras lost the match in three sets (18-25, 22-25, 18-25).

Taylor du Bray headed up the Cobra attack with a double-double on 10 kills and 11 digs. She also added three service aces and two block assists to her numbers. Alexis Berles had two aces on the afternoon as well, while adding five kills and two block assists. Christen Bragg was the leader in assists for the Cobras with 25 and collected a couple of assisted blocks. Madison Bingle shared the lead in digs with her 11 and had five kills. Bethany Prochnow was the main blocker for Coker with three block assists and added four kills to the total. Kara Overholt dug up 10 in her performance against the Eagles, while Missy Reid ended with eight.

As a team, the Navy and Gold finished with 27 kills, 26 assists, five service aces, 53 digs, and 12 block assists.

The Cobras come home to Hartsville for a two match conference homestand. The Newberry College Wolves enter the DeLoach Center Tuesday (Oct. 24) as the Navy and Gold host a Dig Pink and Fangs United match at 7:00 p.m.
