Cobras Host Indians in Tuesday SAC Matchup

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College women's volleyball team returns home to the DeLoach Center on Tuesday (Oct. 25) to take on the visiting Catawba College Indians in a South Atlantic Conference matchup at 6 p.m. Live stats and video will be available at www.cokercobras.com .

The Cobras head into the matchup after finishing 2-0 this past weekend with victories over non-conference opponents Virginia St. and Mount Olive. The victories improved the Cobras overall record to 11-11.

Coker heads into the matchup with a well-balanced offense that boasts four players with 100 kills or more. Cobras with 100 or more kills include Christen Bragg (165), Madison Bingle (158), Alexis Berles (135), and Bethany Prochnow (117). In addition to leading the Cobras in kills, Christen Bragg has dished out a team-high 444 assists this season.

Defensively, Kara Overholt leads the way with a team best 419 digs and is fifth in the conference in digs per set with 5.17. The middle of the defense has been held down by Bethany Prochnow who has collected 52 total digs on the year.

The Indians enter Tuesday's match with a 9-10 overall record that includes a 7-7 mark in the SAC. Alex Hopper leads their offense with 174 kills and Meredith Furr leads the Indians defense with 374 digs.

Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students, and free to all Coker faculty, staff, and students.
