Cobras Drop Non-Conference Tilt with Braves

PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Coker women's volleyball team dropped a non-conference match, 3-1, to the Braves of UNC Pembroke on Saturday (Sept. 20) night.

The first set would be a back-and-forth struggle between the two teams, but UNC Pembroke would capture the set 26-24. Coker would answer with a hard-fought, 25-23, second set victory. The Braves would take advantage of the Navy and Yellow's 18 combined errors in the third and fourth sets, winning the stanzas 25-19 and 25-11, respectively.

Leading the Cobras offensively was Madison Bingle and her double-double performance of 10 kills and 10 digs. The trio of Christen Bragg, Samantha Celek and Missy Reid each tallied 15 digs to lead the defense, with Bragg adding 39 assists to register a double-double of her own.

The Navy and Yellow will return home for its next match on Tuesday (Sept. 23) against Catawba College. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
