PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Coker women's volleyball team traveled to UNC Pembroke for a non-conference double-header against Virginia State and UNC Pembroke on Tuesday (Sept. 17) evening. The Cobras came up empty-handed, as they lost both matches 3-0.
In their match against Virginia State, the Cobras fell just short in all three sets, losing 25-22, 25-20 and 25-20.
Amanda Harris and Brittney Pink were the kill leaders for Coker against Virginia State. Harris had a match high 11 kills, while Pink added nine kills. Harris was also the Cobras leader in digs with 12. Samantha Celek earned a double-double with 28 assists and 11 digs.
Against UNC Pembroke, Coker struggled to get its offense going dropping the three set match with scores of 25-11, 25-13 and 25-13.
Mindy Morris had a match high 14 digs against the Braves and Celek handed out 13 assists.
Coker returns to the floor on Friday (Sept. 20) in a road match at Queens University of Charlotte at 7 p.m.
