Anderson Tops Coker 3-1

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – In their opening South Atlantic Conference match, the Coker Cobras women's volleyball team suffered a 3-1 loss to the visiting Anderson University Trojans on Friday (Sept. 13) night.

The Cobras dropped the first set of the match 25-13, but they battled back to take home the second set 27-25. In a heated third set Anderson pulled out the narrow 27-25 victory to take a 2-1 lead in the match. Then in the fourth set the Trojans turned up the intensity with another 25-13 win, earning the 3-1 match victory.

Freshman Amanda Harris led the Cobra attack with 13 kills, while Loren Hill added eight kills. Mindy Morris had a match high 21 digs and Samantha Celek handed out 29 assists.

Coker returns to the court on Saturday (Sept. 14) at 1 p.m.  The Cobras will host the Newberry Wolves in another South Atlantic Conference match.
