Coker Falls to Barton 3-1

WILSON, N.C. – Taylor Willis pounded out 14 kills in the Cobra women's volleyball team's 3-1 loss to the Barton Bulldogs on Wednesday (Sept. 11).  With the loss Coker moves to 3-3 on the year.

The Cobras and the Bulldogs battled through four close sets. Barton took sets one (25-23)  and three (25-23) and set four (25-15) to earn the win. Coker won the second set 25-21.

In addition to her 14 kills, Willis had seven digs and five block assists. Amanda Harris added eight kills and six digs, while Brittney Pink had five kills with three digs. Samantha Celek handed out 32 assists and had eight digs.

Coker will be back on the court on Friday (Sept. 13) for its 2013 home opener against South Atlantic Conference opponent Anderson University. The match is slated to begin at 7 p.m. at Coker's Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium.
