Coker Punches Ticket to Conference Tourney

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Coker women's volleyball team picked up a big 3-2 win over Converse College on Saturday to advance to the Conference Carolinas Women's Volleyball Tournament. With wins in the second (25-13), fourth (25-14) and fifth (15-6) sets, the Cobras will advance to the conference tournament for the first time in five years.

Samantha Celek had a double-double of 31 assists and 13 digs, while Catie Truzzolino had 13 kills. Taylor Willis and Kelly Stine had 11 kills each and Brittany Bass had 14 digs.

The Cobras will now have a week to prepare for the conference tournament, which begins on Saturday, Nov. 10. As the No. 3 seed from the East Division, Coker will take on the No. 2 seed from the West Division North Greenville at 4:30 p.m. at North Greenville.
