Coker Falls to Barton 3-1

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Hannah Vadakin had a team high 10 kills and seven solo blocks in Coker's 3-1 loss to Barton College in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball action on Saturday. The Cobras still remain in third place in the East Division of the conference standings with three matches left in the season.

Coker opened the match with 25-14 win in the first set, but Barton picked up 25-21, 25-19 and 26-24 victories over the next three sets to pick up the 3-1 win.

Taylor Willis added nine kills, while Catie Truzzolino and April Griggs knocked down eight each for the Cobras. Samantha Celek earned a double-double with 31 assists and a match high 20 digs. Brittany Bass added 16 digs and Loren Hill had 15.

Coker returns to action on Wednesday at 7 p.m. against Belmont Abbey at home. There will be a special Halloween Costume Contest sponsored by Coker's Paws for Pause between sets two and three. Fans are encouraged to come dressed in their best family friendly Halloween costume to the match on Wednesday for their chance to win some great prizes.
