Coker Drops Final Matches of Crimson Hawk Invitational

INDIANA, Pa. – The Coker women's volleyball team came up empty handed in their final two matches of the Crimson Hawk Invitational with losses to LeMoyne College and Michigan Tech on Saturday. The Cobras lost both matches 3-0. They dropped the first match with scores of 25-19, 25-19 and 25-18, and they lost the second with scores of 25-18, 25-21 and 25-23.

Junior Taylor Willis was the kill leader for the Cobras for the third consecutive match, putting down 11 kills. Senior Brittany Bass also led the team in digs with 22 and sophomore Samantha Celek had 24 assists against LeMoyne.

In the Michigan Tech match Willis led the offensive attack with seven kills and Bass once again led the defense with 12 digs.

Coker (0-4) will return to the court next weekend for the Anderson University Invitational. The two-day event will begin on Friday, Sept. 7 with matches against Tusculum College and Montreat College, concluding on Saturday, Sept. 8 with matches against the University of Montevallo and Anderson University.
