Coker Women Drop Tough Five Set Match to Roberts Wesleyan

INDIANA, Pa.- Junior Taylor Willis had a match leading 22 kills, as the Coker women's volleyball team dropped their season opener to Roberts Wesleyan 3-2 at the Crimson Hawk Invitational hosted by Indiana University of Pennsylvania. After falling behind in the opening set 25-20, the Cobras took sets two and three with back-to-back 25-16 wins. Roberts Wesleyan took set four 25-15 and then won the decisive fifth set 16-14.

Following Willis as a kill leader was freshman Loren Hill with 11 kills and 22 digs, while sophomore Samantha Celek handed out 42 assists with seven digs. Senior Brittany Bass was the defensive leader with a match high 32 digs, with junior Mindy Morris registering 25 digs for the Cobras as well.

The Cobras will be back on the court for the second match of the day at 5:30 p.m. against the host Indiana University of Pennsylvania Crimson Hawks.
