Belmont Abbey Sweeps Coker 3-0

HARTSVILLE, SC -- Sophomore Taylor Willis (Zephyrhills, Fla.) led the Cobras for the second consecutive match in kills with eight, but Belmont Abbey swept Coker 3-0.  The sets were taken by scores of: 25-15, 25-18, 25-20.

Coker had four different players with seven digs. Sophomore Hannah Vadakin (Centennial, Colo.) had six kills, while junior April Griggs (Bishopville, S.C.) and freshman Anna Schwark (Coaldale, Alberta) each had five kills.

The Crusaders were led by junior Angela Jubb (Peachtree, Ga.) who had 11 kills.  Junior Kay Schellenberg (Jacksonville, Fla.) led the defense for Belmont Abbey with 12 digs, and had 30 assists.

Coker falls to 8-17 overall with a 5-9 mark in Conference Carolinas play.  Belmont Abbey is now 17-13, with a 9-7 record in conference.  Coker's next match is Wednesday, November 2, at 7 pm against Barton College.
