Cobras Drop Match to Lenoir-Rhyne 3-0

HARTSVILLE, S.C. -- Sophomores Katie McElveen (Hartsville, SC) and Hannah Vadakin (Centennial, CO) both had six kills for the Cobras, but it would not enough as the Bears swept Coker 3-0.

McElveen and Vadakin led the Cobra offensive behind sophomore Kelly Stine's (Fort Collins, CO) 13 assists. McElveen also added two serve aces. Vadakin and sophomore Taylor Willis (Zephyrhills, FL) combined for the lone Cobras block.

Lenoir-Rhyne senior Chelsea Hill (Lexington, SC) and freshmen Brittany Toffan (Horseheads, NC) and Haley Rhyne (Statesville, NC) each had six kills. Junior Meredith Lutz (Newton, NC) had 17 assists. Freshman libero Emily Culler (Mount Airy, NC) had eight digs.

Coker is now 6-6 on the season. Lenoir-Rhyne is now 8-5.

The Cobras' next match is Saturday at 1 p.m., against Fayetteville State.  Lenoir-Rhyne will play Fayetteville State at 11 a.m. and also St. Andrews at 3 p.m. both of Lenoir-Rhyne's matches will be at Coker.
