CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Coker College volleyball team got their 2011 season off to a smashing start on Friday, by taking home a pair of 3-0 straight set victories in day one of the Queens University of Charlotte Volleyball Invitational.

The Cobras first win of the day came against Winston Salem State, when they shut out the Rams in three sets with scores of 27-25, 25-20 and 25-13.

In their second game, the Coker women were again victorious in straight sets. This time it was a 3-0 win over the Falcons of St. Augustine's College. The Cobras won with scores of 28-26, 25-11 and 25-23.

The Cobras will play their third and final match of the Queens Invitational on Saturday at noon against Virginia Union.
