HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College head volleyball coach Todd Caughlin is pleased to announce that right-side and middle hitter Taylor Willis has agreed to play volleyball for the Cobras in the fall of 2011.

A native of Zephyrhills, Florida, Willis joins the Cobras after playing the 2010 season at Flagler College. While at Flagler, Willis helped the Saints win the Peach Belt Conference regular season and conference tournament championships, as well as make an appearance in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Tournament.

The 6-2 star player for Zephyrhills High School, she was a First Team All-Conference selection and was named the Sunshine Athletic Conference Player of the Year during her senior season. She had 398 kills, 180 blocks and had a .566 hitting percentage during her senior campaign.

"I am very excited about Taylor transferring to us from Flagler College,” commented Caughlin. “She brings size and an excitement and knowledge of the game, but her experience gained at Flagler will impact Coker's transition to a new level of play immediately. She understands the commitment it takes both on and off the court to build a successful collegiate volleyball program and I look forward to seeing her contribution to our program."

Along with her outstanding athletic achievements, Willis is an exceptional student off the court. A member of the honor roll, she graduated Cum Laude from high school, received an academic letter and was President of the FCCLA.

One of nine new faces brought in by Coach Caughlin for the 2011 season, Willis and the rest of the Cobras will be looking to bring Coker back to the top of the Conference Carolinas standings come September.
