HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker volleyball team picked up their first victory of the season with a 3-0 win over the Mount Olive Trojans on Tuesday night in Conference Carolinas collegiate volleyball action. The Cobras downed the Trojans in straight sets 25-19, 25-22 and 25-18.

Coker spread the offensive attack well, as four players had six or more kills. Katie McElveen (Hartsville, S.C.) led the way with nine kills and seven digs, while Mindy Morris (Beaufort, S.C.) had eight kills, six digs and two aces. April Griggs (Bishopville, S.C.) had seven kills and three total blocks, while Cynallyhia Indriago (Columbia, S.C.) had six kills, eight digs and three total blocks. Molly Bookhart (Orangeburg, S.C.) had a match high 30 assists and added five digs to the defense.

Mount Olive was led by Tiffany Hight’s 13 kills, while Carly White added eight kills. Feliz Ramirez had a match high 10 digs with Brooke Norris and Erika Conner getting six digs apiece. Kailey Preece handed out 19 assists for the Trojans in the match.

Coker will return to the court on Friday to host Pfeiffer University at 7:00 p.m. in a Conference Carolinas match.
