HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Coker College hosted Erskine College in a Conference Carolinas volleyball match-up Friday evening. The Fleet bombarded the Cobras sweeping Coker 3-0 (20-25, 20-25, 16-25) and spoiling the Cobras 2010 Homecoming match.

The Cobras were led offensively by freshman Katie McElveen (Hartsville, S.C.) with 11 kills, while sophomore Molly Bookhart (Orangeburg, S.C.) had 26 assists and was an integral part of the Cobra offense.  Defensively freshman Mindy Morris (Beaufort, S.C.) had 13 digs leading the Coker defense. 

Erskine College was led by junior Sandra Campbell’s (Pilot Point, Texas) 15 kills and Larz Chabra’s (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.) 31 assists were key in setting the Fleet’s offense.  Sophomore libero Brooke Dodge (Duncan, S.C.) had 9 digs and led Erskine defensively. 

The next home match for the Cobras will be on October 5, against Mount Olive.  A conference match-up, play will start at 7:00 p.m. in the Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium.
