HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker freshman Katie McElveen (Hartsville, S.C.) earned the first double-double of her college career with 11 kills and 15 digs in the Lady Cobra volleyball team’s 3-1 loss to Belmont Abbey on Friday night.

The Crusaders won the first two sets of the match 25-18 and 25-19, before Coker battled their way to a 30-28 win in the third set. Then it was another hard fought fourth set, but the Abbey came out on top 25-21.

Leading the Crusaders was Angela Jubb with 17 kills and six digs, while Lydia Schellenberg had a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs. Kay Schellenberg had seven kills and 10 digs to go along with a match high 40 assists.

For Coker, Cynallyhia Indriago (Columbia, S.C.) had nine kills and 13 digs, while Mindy Morris (Beaufort, S.C.) picked up nine kills and 14 digs. April Griggs (Bishopville, S.C.) also had nine kills for the Lady Cobras and Molly Bookhart (Orangeburg, S.C.) handed out 39 assists.

The Lady Cobras return to the court on Saturday for another Conference Carolinas match, this time they host the Lees-McRae Bobcats at 2:00 p.m.
