HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker sophomore Jordan Hancock (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.) led the Lady Cobra offense with nine kills in Coker’s 3-1 loss to Barton College on Tuesday night in their Conference Carolinas volleyball match. Coker picked up a win in the second set of the match, winning 27-25. Unfortunately for the Lady Cobras, the Bulldogs pulled out wins in the first, third and fourth sets with scores of 25-22, 25-12 and 25-11.

Barton’s Melisa Ritter and Kati Wood were the driving forces behind the Bulldog attack with Ritter picking up 21 kills, eight digs and four aces, while Wood had 12 kills and eight digs. Carly Love and Macon Harmon split the Barton setting duties with 15 and 16 assists respectively. Cassie Blackmon added a match high 12 digs for the Bulldogs on the night.

Helping out Hancock with the Coker offense were April Griggs (Bishopville, S.C.) with seven kills and Katie McElveen (Hartsville, S.C.) with six kills. Molly Bookhart (Orangeburg, S.C.) dished out 25 assists and Brittany Bass (Bethune, S.C.) had a team high 11 digs. McElveen added nine digs and Cynallyhia Indriago (Columbia, S.C.) had seven digs.

The  Lady Cobras return to action later in the week with a match on Friday night against Belmont Abbey starting at 7:00 p.m. and a match on Saturday versus Lees-McRae starting at 2:00 p.m. Both matches will be at home in the Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium.
