Hartsville, SC- In the final home game of the season, the Coker Volleyball Team recognized senior Andrea Manuel/Spartanburg, SC, for her four years of play, on their way to a 3-1 victory over St. Andrews College. The Cobras made the games interesting only winning 35-33, 30-22 and 30-28, in the second game of the match Coker lost 30-25.

 

In her final home game of her career Andrea Manuel had 16 kills and 14 digs, while sophomore Margaret Madison/Savannah, GA, had 26 kills and 8 blocks. Junior Tara Nelson/Rochester Hills, MI, had 61 assists in the match, fellow junior Courtney Barton/Irmo, SC, had 12 kills. Libero Ashley Schaum/Irmo, SC, had 14 digs and defensive specialist Natalie Schembra/Hilton Head, SC, had 3 aces.

 

The Knights of St. Andrews were led by Jessica Bewley with 21 kills, 8 blocks and 3 aces, while Lauren McManus and Dani Ghramm had 14 and 10 kills respectively. Kim Harper gave the Knights 45 assists and 19 digs, and Erin Hauger had 26 digs. Ghramm also contributed 6 service aces to St. Andrews offense.

 

Coker is now 16-13 overall, and 15-4 in the CVAC, while St. Andrews drops to 3-23 overall and 3-15 in the CVAC.

 

In their next match the Cobras travel to Pfeiffer University on Saturday, November 5, at 2 p.m. for their final regular season match.
