Gaffney, SC- The Cobra Volleyball Team traveled to Gaffney, SC to face the Limestone Saints and almost allowed the Saints to pull off a miracle on Tuesday night in collegiate volleyball. Coker won the first two games of the match with scores of 30-28 and 33-31, but fell to Limestone in the next two games 30-23 and 30-18. With their backs to the wall the Cobras stepped up and defeated the Saints 15-10 in game five to take the match.

 

Leading the Cobras to victory was senior Andrea Manuel/Spartanburg, SC, with her 13 kills and 21 digs, while sophomore classmates, Margaret Madison/Savannah, GA, and Megan Haupt/Summerville, SC, had 14 and 10 kills respectively. Junior setter Tara Nelson/Rochester Hills, MI, gave the Cobras 43 assists in the match and freshman Kelsey Carlson/Oswego, IL, had 22 digs.

 

The Cobras are now an even 12-12 overall, and 11-3 in CVAC. Their next match comes on Friday, October 21, as they host the Anderson College Trojans. The match starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium.
