CHARLOTTE, NC - The Queens University of Charlotte volleyball team was handed a 3-0 loss by the Coker in CVAC action.  Scores for the three games were 30-25, 30-24, 30-13.  The Royals had a spirited effort in games 1 and 2 keeping the action within 2-3 points.  During the 10 minute intermission Coker regrouped and came out firing in game 3.

Katherine  Gladstone highlighted the Royals effort with 25 assists and recorded 7 aces during the match.  Ciara Koester and Keatin McKenzie  had 6 and 7 kills respectively.  

Coker had a balanced offense and spread the wealth all over the court.   Margaret Madison led the way with 13 kills, 6 blocks and 4 aces.  Megan Haupt contributed 12 kills for Coker.  Splitting the setting duties were Courtney Butrym (12 assists) and Tara Nelson (22 assists) who found their hitters in the right place at the right time.  Defensively the Cobras back row did their part to slow the Queens attack, Andrea Manual, Kelsey Carlson and Natalie Schembra combined for 34 digs.

With the win Coker is now 11-11 overall, and 10-2 in the CVAC. Coker returns to action on Friday, October 14, as they travel to Lees-McRae College. Queens is in action again after Fall Break against Anderson College.
