Spartanburg, SC – The Converse Volleyball team rallied from 8 points down in the third set to make the score 28-29 and were serving to extend the set but that would be as close as they would come Tuesday night. The Coker Cobras would rally to win the sets and eventually take the match in four sets and improve their record to 4-9 (3-2 CVAC) while the All-Stars dropped to 8-9 (3-4 CVAC).

The Cobras were led by Andrea Manuel/Spartanburg, SC, who on her return home had 17 kills and 2 aces to overpower the All-Stars in the last two sets. The defense of Coker came to the fore early and their defensive leader Kelsey Carlson/Oswego, IL, recorded 29 kills.

The All-Stars were atypically unemotional on offense and failed to match the intensity of the past weeks. Leslie Shain (Joliet, IL) led in kills with 15 while the ever reliable Lauren Mueller (Foley, AL) recorded 5 solo blocks in an otherwise un-Converse like performance.

Converse returns to CVAC action Friday as they travel to Banner Elk, NC to take on Lees McRae while Coker hosts Francis Marion Wednesday night in non-conference action.
