Lazare Ties School Record at JDL DMR Invitational

WINSTON SALEM, N.C. - The Coker University women's track and field team had a strong day at the JDL DMR Invitational on Saturday (Feb.19).

The Cobras were led by Calene Lazare, who finished second and tied the school record with a time of 7.68 in the 60 meter dash. This mark was good enough for a NCAA provisional mark for qualification to nationals. Lazare also earned a provisional mark in the 200 meter dash, as she finished second with her time of 25.11.

Arianna Williams finished in eighth place in the 60 meter hurdles, as she posted a time of 10.13. Destiny Ingram finished 11th in the 400 meter dash, recording a 1:03.20 and Jael Stauffer earned an eighth place finish in the long jump with a distance of 4.93 meters.

Coker will be back in action next weekend (Feb. 26-27) at the South Atlantic Conference Indoor Championships. Coverage can be found at www.cokercobras.com
