Holton Sets School Record as Coker Women’s Track & Field Starts 2021 Season

HICKORY, N.C. – At the LR Polar Joe Invite, the Coker University women's track and field team started the indoor season on a strong note on Saturday (Feb. 6) by setting a school record and winning multiple events.

Sophomore transfer Jada Holton set the school record in the triple event with a distance of 11.25m, she would also win the high jump with a  1.52m jump. 

Sophomore Katie Spence won the 3000 meter run with a time of 11:50.32 for Coker. 

Freshman Catherine Cann placed in two events for the Cobras, Cann won the 800m with a time of 2:53.04 and came in second in the mile run at 5:57.20. Ikia McCollough placed third in the weight throw, throwing for 8.36m.

The Coker women are back in action again on Feb. 14 where they travel back to Hickory, N.C. for the LR Polar Joe Invite. Coverage can be found at cokercobras.com.
