Cobras Finish First Day of Gamecock Opener

FULL DAY ONE FIELD RESULTS

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Coker University women's track and field team completed day one at the Gamecock Opener on Friday (Jan. 17) in Columbia, S.C.

On the track, Nyasia Weatherly led the way for the Cobras in the 60m with a time of 8.06, while Syriah Lottimore finished at 8.28. Asante Rice excelled in the 60 hurdles with a time of 9.64, and Trinity White ran a 1:01.27 in the 400m. In weight throw, Caterra Barkins totaled 10.52m, with Sierra St. John finishing at 8.98m.

In the 60m prelims, Calene Lazare ran a 7.78. Lazare was the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Track Athlete of the Week for events Dec. 3 - Dec. 10 of 2019.

"We had a good amount of personal bests, and we hope to carry over that momentum into tomorrow's events," said coach Pete Early. "We look forward to day two's competition!" 

The Cobras will continue the Gamecock Opener on Saturday (Jan. 18) with action getting underway at 9:00 a.m. Live results can be found at www.cokercobras.com
