Three Cobras Named to NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field All-Region Honorees

NEW ORLEANS, La.- Brandon Mullins, Tony McElveen Jr., and Kaylah Ruff have been named 2019 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field All-Region Honorees as it was announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Tuesday, May 14. 

Tony McElveen earned his honors in the 100-meters where he posted eight of the top ten marks in school history, including the top three wind-aided, and top three wind-legal times in Coker history. McElveen's record wind-aided time of 10.47 seconds came at the Mount Olive First Chance and Multi event on Saturday (May 11), and his record wind-legal time of 10.58 came at the Winthrop Twilight on May 1st.

Brandon Mullins earned his third consecutive All-Region honor thanks to another outstanding season in the 800-meter. Mullins finished his Coker career with the top 13 800-meter marks in Coker history, and 18 of the top 19 marks. He posted seven of those times this season, including a season-best 1:52.20 that he ran at the Torrin Lawrence Memorial on May 27th.

Kaylah Ruff earned her All-Region honor after dominating in the 100-meter hurdles all season long. Ruff broke both the wind-aided and wind-legal school records and South Atlantic Conference Championships meet records at the South Atlantic Conference Championships on April 20th with marks of 14.13 and 14.16 respectively. She posted the top eight marks in school history during her senior season, and has recorded the top 15 times in Coker history throughout her career.
