Coker's Lott Earns South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C.- Coker College women's track and field team member Darroneshia Lott has been named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday, April 3. This is the second consecutive week Lott has been given the honor. 

At the Raleigh Relays March 30-31, Darroneshia Lott punched her ticket to the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, positing an automatic qualifying time of 2:06.21 in the 800-meter run. In the process the Pensacola, Fla. runner won the event and set a Coker and personal record. Her time in the 800-meter is currently the third-fastest in Division II.

Lott also ran in the 1500-meter event, finished second in 4:25.72, earning an NCAA provisional mark. The time is a new Coker and personal record and is the fourth-fastest mark in NCAA Division II.

She is the daughter of Michele and Darron Lott. She is a physical education major.
