Darroneshia Lott Powers into Division II Women's 800-meter Finals

PITTSBURG, Kan.- Coker College women's track and field runner, Darroneshia Lott, powered her way into the NCAA Division II Women's 800-meter National Championship race while setting a new personal and Coker College record on Friday (March 9) afternoon in Kansas. 

As the most-decorated runner in Coker women's track and field history, Darroneshia Lott started from the inside in lane one, in the preliminary race on Friday. Coming around the fourth turn heading into the homestretch, Lott could be seen smiling the whole way, as she pushed across the line in 2:08.74, finishing second in her heat, setting a new personal and Coker College 800-meter record.

With Lott's second place finish, she will advance to the NCAA Division II National Championship Women's 800-meter race on Saturday, March 10. The race is set to begin 7:35 p.m. EST. Video and live-stats can be found by visiting www.cokercobras.com.
