Cobras Record Two Wins at Winston-Salem Invitational

Winston Salem, N.C. – Wins at the 60-meter hurdles and 4x 400 relay were just two of the Coker College women's track and field team's 19 top-10 finishes at the Winston-Salem Invitational on Sunday (Jan. 23). 

Noella Leake, Autumn Walters and Talicia Murphy earned top-10 finishes in the women's 60-meter. Leake came in sixth with a time of 8.07, Walters came in eighth with time of 8.20, while Murphy finished tenth with a time of 8.27.

Jalecia Williamson also came in tenth in the 200 meters, posting a time of 27.52.

Four Cobras recorded top-10 finishes in the 400 meters. Williamson earned a runner-up finish with a time of 1:02.73. Charity Snelling wasn't far behind, finishing in third with a time of 1:03.16. Briana Nixon came in sixth with a time of 1:05.44, while Rickii Banks finished in eighth place after a time of 1:07.64.

Coker had one top-10 finisher in both the 800-meters and the mile run. Lisa Foster came in sixth in the 800-meters with a time of 2:40.14. In the mile run, Shauntel Smullen came in fourth with a time of 5:43.22.

Kaylah Ruff earned one of the two Coker first-place finishes. She ran a time of 9.41 in the 60-meter hurdles. The other win came in the 4x 400 relay.

Snelling earned another top-10 finish, this time a runner-up showing in the high jump, posting a distance of 1.60 meters.

Murphy, Banks and Quantaysia Lowery all earned top-10s in the long jump. Murphy came in third with a distance of 4.94 meters. Banks tabbed a sixth-place showing with a distance of 4.40 meters, while Lowery came in ninth with distance of 3.34 meters.

The Navy and Gold had three top-10 finishers in the shot put. Keyosha Booker and Tamara McMichael finished with distances of 8.49 meters and a fifth and sixth place finish. Erin Chan rounded out the trio, with a tenth place finish and a distance of 6.55 meters.

The Cobras will be back in action on Friday and Saturday (Jan. 29-30) when they travel to Winston-Salem N.C. for the Camel City Elite.
