Women's Tennis Dominates USC Sumter In Exhibition Match

Sumter, SC - The Cobras Women's Tennis team was on another level today, securing the dominant 9-0 win over USC Sumter on the road.

USC Sumter only fielded four women on the roster for the match, so they had to forfeit a doubles match and two of the singles matches. Because of this, Coker led 3-0 before the match even began.

Starting with doubles, Jade Bellegy and Emerson Banning came out with a 8-2 win at first doubles. On the second doubles court, Rachel Grove and Olivia Drake played their first match of the season and secured the 8-0 sweep.

On to singles, it was straight-set victories on courts one through four. Bellegy won 6-0, 6-2 on court one, Salomé Sierra won 6-2, 6-0 on court two, Tamara Macias got the double bagel (6-0, 6-0) on court three, and Grove won 6-1, 6-1 on court four.

The Cobras are back at it again on Sunday when they travel up to Charlotte to face off against Johnson C. Smith. First serve for that one is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
