Cobras to Battle Indians in Conference Showdown

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker women's tennis will take on Catawba on Wednesday (Mar. 30) in a South Atlantic Conference contest.

The Cobras last played on Friday (Mar. 11) when they downed Carson Newman 6-3. In doubles action, the Cobras earned wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. The tandem of Jennifer Mezei and Bailey Palmer notched the win at No. 1 doubles, while Ragan Palmer and Suzanna Mickey earned an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles.

Mezei completed the match sweep, earning a comeback win at No. 1 singles, by a score of 2-6, 6-1, 6-1. Ragan Palmer cruised to a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles. Mickey also came back from a set down at No. 5 singles, winning the three-setter 4-6, 6-2, 6-4. Sarah Elliott rounded things out for the Navy and Gold with a 7-5, 7-5 win at No. 6 singles.

Mezei and Bailey Palmer each own 5-5 marks in singles play while the duo is 4-6 in doubles play.

The Indians (11-8, 2-5 SAC) are led in singles play by Erisa Onchi who is 13-4 on the year. The team of Maddie Henderson and Rachel Rudisill is 10-5 on the year in doubles play.

First serve is set for 2:00 p.m. at the Coker Tennis Courts.
