Cobras Make it Five Straight with 6-3 SAC Win over Lenoir-Rhyne

HICKORY, N.C. – Reigning South Atlantic Conference player of the week Jessi Campos and the Coker women's tennis team picked up a 6-3 win over SAC foe Lenoir-Rhyne University on Tuesday (Mar. 24) afternoon. The win is the Cobras fifth straight and improved them to 8-7 overall on the season and 4-1 in SAC play.

Campos and partner Suzanna Mickey picked up an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles, while Ragan Palmer and Bailey Palmer picked up an 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles to give Coker an early 2-1 lead after doubles action.

Bailey Palmer would continue Coker's winning ways in singles play, picking up a 2-6, 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 1 singles. Campos would win in straight sets at No. 3 singles with a score of 6-2, 6-4 and Ragan Palmer would register a 6-0, 6-3 straight-set victory at No. 5 singles. Rounding out the victories for the Cobras was Mickey with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles.

The Navy and Yellow will look to add to its winning streak on Friday (Mar. 27) when they travel to Mars Hill University for a SAC contest with the Lions. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
