Coker's Campos Named SAC AstroTurf Women's Tennis Player of the Week

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College women's tennis player Jessi Campos has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the league office announced today. This is Coker's first SAC player of the week award of the season.

Campos led the Cobras to a 3-0 SAC record on the week, which included 5-4 victories over Lincoln Memorial University on Monday (Mar. 16) and at Catawba College on Tuesday (Mar. 17) and concluded with a 7-2 rout of Brevard College on Saturday (Mar. 21).

Campos went a combined 6-0 on the week, posting a 3-0 record at both No. 3 doubles and No. 3 singles. In doubles action, Campos notched an 8-1 win against LMU with partner Suzanna Mickey to start off the week and followed it up with 8-1 and 8-3 wins against Catawba and Brevard, respectively. In singles action, she tallied a 3-2 win after having her match retired against LMU. Campos would register a 6-2, 6-4 straight-set victory over Catawba and finish the week with a tough 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 win against Brevard.

On the season, Campos has posted a 3-1 singles record in SAC play and remains perfect in SAC doubles action at 4-0.

A junior from Myrtle Beach, S.C, Campos is a physical education major. She is the daughter of Patti Campos.
