Cobras Top Railsplitters 5-4

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker Cobras picked up an impressive 5-4 win over the visiting Railsplitters of Lincoln Memorial on Monday (Mar. 16) in South Atlantic Conference women's tennis action.

The Cobras took an early 2-1 lead thanks to an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles by Bailey and Ragan Palmer, and an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles by Jessi Campos and Sezanna Mickey. 

Then in singles action the Palmer sisters and Campos secured Coker's victory with wins at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5 singles.

Bailey Palmer had a near flawless victory at No. 2 singles, winning 6-1, 6-0, while Campos won with ease when her opponent was force to retire at No. 3 singles.  Ragan Palmer then picked up a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles to seal the deal for the Coker women.

The Cobras will return to action Tuesday (Mar. 17) when they hit the road to Catawba College for a SAC match beginning at 2 p.m.
