Coker Women Take Care of Lees-McRae 7-2

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's tennis team earned a 7-2 victory over the Lees-McRae Bobcats in its first Conference Carolinas match of the season. The victory moves the Cobras to 3-3 on the year and 1-0 in league play.

The Cobras swept doubles play with an 8-6 win at No. 1, a 9-7 win at No. 2 and an 8-4 win at No. 3.

Danielle Chipe got the Cobras off to a good start in singles play with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 1, Jessi Campos followed with a 6-0, 6-2 in at No. 3, while Brittanny Yando and Faith Baxley earned back to back victories at No. 4 and No. 5 to give the Cobras the 7-2 win.

Coker will be back on the court on Sunday (March 3) for their second conference match of the weekend at home against King University. The match will begin at 11 a.m.
