Cobra Women's Tennis Comes from Behind to Defeat Benedict

COLUMBIA, S.C. – After trailing 2-1 following doubles play, the Coker women's tennis team stormed back in singles play to win its match against Benedict 6-3.

Faith Baxley and Brittanny Yando earned the lone doubles win at No. 3, winning 8-2.

In singles play the Cobras won at No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 to earn the victory. Danielle Chipe won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1, while Anna Musiyenko picked up a 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 2. Jessi Campos earned a 7-5, 6-3 win at No. 3 and Casey Altman won at No. 5 with scores of 6-3, 7-5. Baxley earned the final win of the day for the Cobras with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6.

The Cobras will be back on the court on Sunday (Feb. 10). They will play their home opener at 1 p.m. against the Patriots of Francis Marion.
