Hartsville, SC -- Coming off a conference win, the Lady Cobras kept the winning steak hot defeating Lenoir Rhyne College 9-0. They came out strong in doubles taking a 3-0 lead. The doubles teams of Cassidy Spencer/Lindsay Crighton and Ashley Pace/Stephanie Medley took easy victories at the No. 3 and No. 2 spots respectively, 8-0. Rachel Lemar/Alyssa Blanchard rounded out the doubles wins 8-4.
Without losing any speed, Blanchard (Columbia, SC) and Medley (Sumter, SC) quickly defeated their opponents, 6-2, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-2. Lemar (London, England) fought a good match and came out on top, 6-4, 6-1. Playing in the No. 4 position, Pace (Clinton, SC) battled her opponent to a 6-2, 6-4 win. At the No. 5 and No. 6 positions Crighton (Florence, SC) and Kendall Sigmon (Hilton Head, SC) finished off Lenoir Rhyne with a 6-2, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-1 win.
After today’s victory, the Lady Cobras are 4-2 on the season. They will play host to West Alabama University on Friday March 20. The match will take place at the Coker College Tennis Facilities at 3 pm.
