Autumn Fetterolf Strikes a Goal to Spike Railsplitters 1-0

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker College women's soccer team picked up their first South Atlantic Conference game with a 1-0 outcome over the visiting Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters. Autumn Fetterolf buried her first goal of the season to lift the Cobras to victory on Saturday (Oct. 14) afternoon at the Coker Athletic Field.

Autumn Fetterolf, a senior midfielder, found the back of the net for the first time this season, scoring the game-winner for Coker. After a penalty was called on Lincoln Memorial, Fetterolf set up for the free kick and placed the ball in the back of the net on a line drive to the left side to give the Navy and Gold the 1-0 lead in the 55th minute.

On the night, Coker persisted with continuous offensive attacks on the Railsplitters' side of the field. The Cobras fired off 16 shots on the night, while Grayson Chappell led the team with six taken.

In goal for the Cobras was Shelby Middleton, who recorded her first clean sheet of the season and collected one save on the afternoon.

The Cobras will be in action next Wednesday (Oct. 18) with a road SAC contest at Lenoir-Rhyne. The match is slated for a 5:00 p.m. start.
