HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker College women's soccer team dropped their South Atlantic Conference opener to Newberry College, 2-0 on Wednesday night (Sept. 13) at the Coker Athletic Field. 

Six different Cobras put a strike on the ball in the match with three on goal. Lillia Rodriguez fired a shot in the second half, but a defender deflected the ball sending it off course.

Samantha Hoffman recorded five saves in the match, while the rest of the team picked up 11.

Coker will be back in action on Saturday (Sept. 16) as they will play host to the Francis Marion University Patriots (1-1) at 4:30 p.m. at the Coker Athletic Field.
