Cobras Host Knights for Midweek Non-conference Matchup

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker women's soccer will host the Knights of St. Andrews in a midweek non-conference tilt on Wednesday (Sept. 28). The game is being made up from its original date, Sept. 3.

The Cobras come into the matchup off a South Atlantic Conference road trip, their last action came on Saturday (Sept. 24) when they fell at Catawba 4-0. Phoebie Eshen, Jessi Campos, Autumn Fetterolf, Ariana Tashjian and Jordan Power (2) all registered shots in the contest while Ashton Knopf made seven saves.

On the season, newcomer Phoebie Eshen leads the team with three goals, while Renee Ledesma and Ashley Hogg each have one marker on the year. Shelby Middleton has spend the majority of the time between the pipes, logging 382:19, good for ninth in the SAC. In that span she has made 29 saves (4th in the SAC) and owns a 1.88 Goals Against Average, 10th-best in the conference.

The Knights come into the contest with a 5-1 record and a 2-1 mark in the Appalachian Athletic Conference. They are led offensively by Nikki Bass, who has a team-leading 20 points on six goals and nine assists. The Knights have used a trio of goalies so far on the season, with Rachel Widdicks logging the majority of the minutes.

The match is slated for a 4:00 p.m. start at the Coker College athletic field. Tickets for the match are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students.
