Cobras Prepare to Host St. Andrews

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker women's soccer will host St. Andrews in its home opener on Saturday (Sept. 3). Video and live stats will be available at www.cokercobras.com.

The Cobras dropped their season opener to Converse 2-1 on Thursday (Sept. 1). The Cobras trailed 2-0 midway through the first half, before Renee Ledesma found the back of the net in the 43rd minute. Shelby Middleton made eight saves in 62:09 of relief work.

Ledesma's first marker of the year puts her tied for second in the South Atlantic Conference. Shelby Middleton's eight saves are the highest mark in the conference.

This will be the first match of the year for the Knights, who went 10-8-3 in 2015 including a 4-4-2 mark in the Appalachian Athletic Conference.

Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. at the Coker College athletic fields. Tickets for the match are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students. Due to potential inclement weather, please stay tuned to www.cokercobras.com for updates.
