Women's Soccer Adds Five During Early Signing Period

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker women's soccer team has added five recruits during the 2016 early signing period, announced Thursday (Feb. 4).

"Recruiting the 'right' student-athletes for our program has been the number one priority," said head coach Debbie McGuinness. "Young ladies with great character and soccer abilities are tough to come by, however, we believe we're getting both with this group. We are excited about their commitment to develop and grow in our environment and we welcome them into our Cobra family." 

Marissa Kaufman, a midfielder out of Sanford, N.C., was voted second team all-conference both her sophomore and junior years. She is the daughter of Matt and Dana Kaufman and plans to study political science.

Grayson Chappell is a midfielder out of Rock Hill, S.C. Chappell scored 47 goals as a junior at South Pointe High School, and set a school record with 21 assists. She was the AAA Player of the Year runner up, as well as a AAA all-state selection, the first-ever girl to receive the honor from SPHS. She also earned the honors of four-time all-region selection, four-year team captain, three-time Herald all-area selection; two-time CAWS Player of the Year finalist and SCHSSL scholar athlete. She is the daughter of Dwayne and Katie Chappell, and plans to study graphic design. 

Neeley Reagin is a center back out of Greenwood, S.C. She participated in varsity soccer as well as junior varsity cheerleading for the Greenwood Eagles. She was a varsity letter winner all four years and was an All-Lakelands team selection in 2015. The daughter of Patty and Grant Reagin, she plans to study biology.

Jenna Collins is a forward from Fort Mill, S.C. She participated in soccer and track for the Marvin Ridge High School Mavericks. The daughter of Suzanne and David Collins, she plans to study medicine. 

Ashley Hogg is a midfielder also from Fort Mill, S.C. She was a member of the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets soccer team that advanced to the AAA Region Three tournament in 2015. The daughter of Matthew and Jo Ann Hogg, she plans to study early childhood education.
