Cobras to Take on Trojans in SAC Action

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's soccer team will take on the Anderson (S.C.) University Trojans in South Atlantic Conference action on Saturday (Sept. 20). Kick-off is set for 4:30 p.m. Live coverage of the match will be available at www.cokercobras.com.

The Navy and Yellow are looking to improve to 2-0 in conference play, following a 1-0 win over Lincoln Memorial last Saturday (Sept. 13). The trio of Trah Monroe, Renee Ledesma and Salina Maynard will be tasked with leading a Cobra offense that averages four goals a game at home. Goalie Lizz Morris will look to improve on the team's undefeated record at home and add to her nation-leading 47 saves.

Anderson enters the game with a 2-2 overall record after suffering a 5-0 loss to Catawba College. Rachael Whaling leads the Trojans with two goals on the season, while Emily Cowan has racked up two assists.

Tickets for the match are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free to all Coker faculty, staff and students. Saturday will also be Prostate Awareness Day. Donations can be made prior to and during the game, with all proceeds going to the Us TOO International Prostate Cancer Education & Support Network.
