HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College women's soccer players Lizz Morris and Millie Rogers have been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Scholar All-Region team. Morris was named to the second team, while Rogers was named honorable mention in the All-South region.

"I am very proud of Lizz and Millie's efforts on and off the field," said head women's soccer coach Dan Muns. "This is a special accomplishment for them because they are the first student-athletes to be recognized at the regional level during my tenure at Coker. That speaks volumes about the dedication they've put in to every aspect of their lives, which is a credit to themselves, their parents and Coker athletics." 

A goalkeeper and two-year captain, Morris compiled 156 saves on the season, which ranked first in the South Atlantic Conference and NCAA Division II. She also registered five shutouts, which were good for third in the conference and helped her land a spot on the all-conference first team.

Morris is a junior biology major with a pre-medical concentration and a 3.65 GPA. She is a member of Coker's Enactus team – a community of student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better, more sustainable world. She's also involved with the World Scholar program on campus, which is a living-and-learning community focused on cultivating well-rounded, culturally aware students.

A defender, Rogers has been a three-year starter and two-year captain for the Cobras. During the 2013 season, she helped the team pitch eight shutouts and added four goals on the offensive end.
