Trojans Conquer Cobras, 2-0

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Coker women's soccer team lost 2-0 to Mount Olive in a Conference Carolinas match on Tuesday (Oct. 23).

Mount Olive got on the scoreboard quickly as Ellie Barnes found Daisy Thomas in the left side of the box. Thomas scored from 15 yards out to give the Trojans a 1-0 lead just 2:42 into the match. Later in the 30-minute Maddy Robak scored the Trojans second goal, to take a 2-0 lead into half time. 

Coker pressured more in the second half and had its best scoring chance off a restart in the 76th-minute. Jenna Pacyna won the ball for the Cobras just above the box and struck a low line drive from 19 yards out. Trojan goalkeeper Carolin Edenhofner dove and made a finger tip save, to keep Coker off the scoreboard.  

Lizz Morris recorded 11 saves in Tuesday's match, and is currently fourth in the nation with a total of 132. 

Coker will return home to wrap up regular season play against Limestone on Saturday (Oct. 27).  The contest is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
