Cobras Play to 1-1 Draw With Crusaders

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker women's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday (Oct. 17), in a Conference Carolinas match against North Greenville.

The Crusaders took an early lead, when Jade Salle scored off a pass from Ansley Dobbs just four minutes into the game.  North Greenville took a 1-0 lead into the locker room.

Just minutes into the second half, Bailey Van Order placed a perfectly timed cross to find the foot of Cassie Callahan who was able to knock it passed the Crusader goalkeeper.  With over 35-minutes to play in regulation the score was tied 1-1.

Two overtime periods however, was not enough to settle the dispute.  The Cobras fired off 12 shots and five corner kicks throughout the competition, but could not connect for the go-ahead goal.

Coker will host Queens University of Charlotte for a Conference Carolinas match on Saturday (Oct. 20). The game is slatted to start at 4:30p.m.
