Cobras and Pacers Battle to 0-0 Draw

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College women's soccer team battled USC Aiken to a 0-0 non-conference draw on Saturday (Oct. 6), in front of a festive Homecoming crowd of 346.

The game went into double-overtime, but even that wasn't enough for the two teams to settle the dispute.  The competition was physical, with a total of 15 fouls dished out in the competition, with Coker collecting nine and USC Aiken gathering six.

The offense struggled to gain position as five different Cobras took shots, but none could connect.  Lizz Morris was relentless in goal, snagging up all 19 shots that the Pacers put on the cage and keeping the scoreboard clean.

The Cobras will be back in Conference Carolinas play when they hit the road on Wednesday (Oct. 10), to face Belmont Abbey.  The game is set to start at 4 p.m.
