Cobra Women Drop Finale 2-1 to Knights

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The 2011 season came to a close on Saturday night for the Cobras as they dropped their game to St. Andrews 2-1.  Freshman Cassie Callahan (Fayetteville, N.C.) netted the lone Coker goal in the 58th minute off a pass from sophomore Rachel Solomon (Bluffton, S.C.).

Coker freshman keeper Lizz Morris (Stillwater, N.Y.) made four saves on the night.  Callahan's goal was a blast from deep outside that rang off the crossbar.  The Cobras managed a total of ten shots, nine of which were on goal. 

St. Andrews' sophomore keeper Katie Jaskulski (Orlando, Fla.) made eight saves for the Knights.  Senior Olivia Taylor (Fountain Inn, S.C.) tallied the first goal for St. Andrews in the 31st minute on a beautiful through ball from sophomore Hannah Wilson (Salisbury, N.C.).  Wilson then tallied a goal in the 47th minute on an unassisted marker.

Coker's season draws to a close as they finish at 1-16-1, 1-10-1 in conference.  St. Andrews' season is also finished as they conclude the 2011 season at 2-15-1 overall, 1-11 in conference play.

Callahan scored the Cobras lone goal.

The McDonald's Player of the Game is presented by the Hartsville McDonald's and is given to the most outstanding performer during each Coker College home athletic event.
