Cobras Pick up 0-0 Draw with Barton

WILSON, N.C. – Coker's Haley Gibson (Chesterfield, S.C.) had nine saves, as she led the Cobra women's soccer team to a 0-0 draw against Barton College on Wednesday night in Conference Carolinas women's soccer action.

The tie is Coker's first of the season and it marks the first shutout for Gibson in net.

In a battle of determination and will, both Coker and Barton fought for 110 minutes of play with neither side willing to concede to the other. Barton held the advantage on shots 20-8, but Gibson was an unstoppable force between the posts making four saves in the first overtime period alone.

The Cobras will return home for their next match on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. against Lees-McRae. It will be Coker's breast cancer awareness game, the "Kick for Ta-Tas". The Cobras will wear special pink uniforms to raise breast cancer awareness and all proceeds from the game will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
